Norman Filter manufactures custom filter housings designed to be compliant with the requirements of ASME B31.3 High Pressure Piping. ASME compliant filter housings are our most robust units available, and they meet the stringent design requirements of ASME B31.3. Additional pressure vessel standards can be met with these assemblies as well. Contact NFC Sales for information regarding compliance to ASME BPVC Section VIII, European PED, NR-13 or any other nationally recognized pressure vessel standard.
ASME Compliant Filter Housings
Typical design to a nationally recognized standard such as B31.3 relies on limiting the maximum allowable stress values seen by the pressure vessel. This ensures the component will safely stay below the yield stress of the parent material. By designing to eliminate potential yield stress values as opposed to physical proof or burst test validation the product has a higher level of safety margin and complies to many strict national and international pressure vessel requirements.
On all new custom designs NFC starts the design pressure using the rules of either ASME Section VIII or ASME B31.3 to ensure product reliability and safety.
